Different Directions

Thanks to Sheila for the idea! I feel like this is my best picture yet, which makes me happy. It means I'm getting better at using my camera, just as I'm getting better at using photoshop. I'm surrounded by beautiful places to take pictures, so I'm planning on making full use of it, starting here.

Note: Everything in this picture is my own. I didn't use stock photos.

Also, the skin tone is intentional. A few people (not many, but just in case) have misunderstood the pale shade in this photo and one other for an accident on my part, but they are meant to look pale.

EDIT: If any people more experienced than I see this, I would really love some pointers--I'm very much a beginner in photography, especially with a DSLR (Canon 7D). If you leave a critique, please make sure it's something that will actually help me to improve, not just something vague or mean. I haven't been doing this long, but I need to know what I should even be looking for in order to improve.
